Jennifer Lopez is continuing to expand her already vast empire, with reports that she has just purchased cable TV network Fuse.

The star is said to have got into a fierce bidding war with ex-boyfriend Puff Daddy, aka Sean Combs, to buy the music channel from The Madison Square Garden Company (MSG), according to the
New York Post.

They report that both JLo’s Latino network NuvoTV and the rapper offered around the $200 million mark for the rights, with the singer and actress finally coming out on top.

After being announced as the chief creative officer of Nuvo in May 2013, the 44-year-old began lobbying for more diverse Hispanic content in her bid to empower the Latin community.

‘There’s a big revolution going on; it’s like a media and cultural revolution of Latinos here in the United States,’ she said. ‘We’re realising our power. We’re realising that we matter here.’

She also founded Latino mobile phone service Viva Móvil, while she turned her hand to executive producing several TV shows – including ABC Family’s The Fosters.

Fuse previously failed to do well for MSG, which primarily focuses on sports programming, despite being rebranded on several occasions – the most recent of which was in 2012.

As the news of her latest takeover was made public, the star stepped out on the set of American Idol in Los Angeles on Thursday looking simply stunning in a hot pink outfit.

The leggy blonde flaunted her enviably toned pins in a pair of tailored shorts, adding some much-needed height to her petite frame with leg-lengthening mushroom-coloured platform pumps.

She completed her look with a matching pink blouse that was rolled up at the sleeves and unbuttoned to reveal just a hint of cleavage, along with plenty of showstopping gold jewellery including a chunky cuff, choker, long, dangling necklace and thin chainlink belt.

Her long flowing locks were styled in relaxed waves, framing her perfectly made-up face, which featured a heavy bronze base, dark, smoky eyes and soft pink lips.

The mom-of-two appeared in great spirits as she made her way to the studio from her trailer, smiling and waving at onlookers.

While this may be her first foray into music television, the same can’t be said for her ex.

Puff started up his own music-oriented cable network REVOLT last October, currently exclusive to Comcast and Time Warner Cable.

The 44-year-old has since branched out to film production under the same masthead, with full-length feature Lawless and documentary Ibiza already on the label.
