The Voice Coach gushed about being a girl dad while on TODAY.

Chance the Rapper is the proud papa to two adorable girls: 7-year-old Kensli and 4-year-old Marli. When The Voice Coach was on TODAY on February 26, he gushed about his favorite part of being a girl dad.

”When they get excited to see me, that feels really good,” he told Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager.

He also talked about how he likes to help them grow by making educational activities entertaining. “I love doing little learning exercises with them. We do a lot of science experiments, going to museums, it’s fun,” he added.

Then, he revealed just how the two little ones are following in his footsteps musically.

”They both are into music. Marli jut got a drum kit that she’s in love with. And Kensli just got a trumpet, but Kensli’s been playing piano for about a year,” he said. We bet that’s a happily noisy household!

He then told a cute story about how they both are big fans of their father’s entire discography, even if they haven’t figured out how to listen to all of it yet.

”The love [my new music]. It’s so cool. They don’t know the difference between released an unreleased music, so I play stuff for them all the time, and they ask for a song on Apple Music or whatever and they can’t find it, they freak out. And I’m like, ‘No, it’s just not out yet,” he said with a chuckle.

How Kensli and Marli are drawn to music

Chance has shown off his daughter’s early ears for music multiple times. In December 2023, he shared a precious moment when he brought Marli onstage to a concert in Mexico, where she started singing his tune ”Work Out” to an adoring crowd.

For Marli’s 4th birthday In August 2023, the tot showed off her adorable pipes when she sang ”Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid while sitting on her father’s lap.

In an interview with Access, Chance talked about how his work on The Voice excites them both.

“They like it; they don’t like me having to go to work, I think. They get a little upset about that, but they like the show. They watched the live [Semi-Final] the other day and my daughter just got, like, a little watch phone, so she kept calling me in between and I’m like, ‘It’s live, I’m literally here right now. But I think, they’re both into music a lot, so they like the idea of, you know, seeing me on stage with a bunch of singers,” he said.
